High Altitude Coding KonferenceWe Can't Meet. So, Join RubyHACK and Help Utahns Eat!
RubyHACK Virtual Food & Fund Drive!
RubyHACK, like all of us, has been affected by the pandemic and we’d
still like to be a positive force in our community. Due to the repercussions of COVID,
40% of the people asking The Utah Food Bank for help are asking for the first time.
Utah Food Bank is distributing more than six million pounds of food each month:
triple the amount typical for this time of year. While the pandemic has contributed
to the growing number of people who need help feeding their families, it has also
eliminated a lot of workplace and neighborhood food drives: contributions are down!
In lieu of a conference this year, RubyHACK would like to continue
to demonstrate our commitment to the community and to helping others
with this virtual food drive benefiting the Utah Food Bank. We're calling
on all past sponsors, Rubyists, techies and friends of techies to
contribute ANY amount.
Every $1 you donate turns into $8.03 in goods and services for Utahns facing hunger.
And, to help your dollars go even further, RubyHACK will match the first $2,500 in
donations. This means every $10 donated translates to over $160 in value! Your donations
go directly to the Food Bank - every single dollar is contributed.
Please join us in taking hunger off the list of things that people struggling
to make ends meet have to worry about.
Donating is easy! Just select the items you would like Utah Food Bank to
purchase on your behalf OR select the cash item to allow Utah Food Bank
to utilize your donation where it's most needed. Then check out and follow
the steps to enter your payment information.
Thank you for helping and we look forward to seeing your faces when
it's safe to meet in person again.!
